BostInno Features MBTA and Uber Boston’s ‘Love Story’

BostInno, a local digital media company, recently featured Uber’s  blog post about their ‘love story’ with the MBTA’s new Late Night T service. The article shares that while the demand of Uber trips has dipped during late weekend nights since the Late Night service pilot began on March 28th, Uber doesn’t seem too upset about it.  

BostInno reporter Nate Boroyan spotlights Uber’s non-competitive outlook in the piece:

“In a blog post, Uber states: "Multiple options – MBTA, Uber and otherwise – help the system work more efficiently and effectively, making late night Boston a more accessible, affordable, happy place to be.

The piece cites the Late Night Data T Challenge, a four-week long data challenge sponsored by Mass Big Data and the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, in addition to MassDOT, Uber, and Microsoft New England.  The Challenge is being run to highlight the MBTA’s late night service and to see how it, as well as other on-demand services such as Uber, are contributing to Boston's culture shift towards later hours,. 

The piece also includes graphs developed by Uber’s graphs that show user demand and analysis of how Uber interacts with the Late Night T service.
